The 2007 ARRL Southwest Division Convention was held September 7-9 in Torrance, California.  I drove out with Larry, W7LB, and my son Ryan, KR7YAN.

Exhibit Hall on Friday night. On Saturday the hall was very full most of the day.

M2 antennas had some new "entry-level" beams on display. I picked up a 3-element 6-meter beam, seen in the upper left of this picture.

KR7YAN in front of the Yaesu booth. They gave us hats and maps.

Icom had the largest exhibit booth. They gave us pigs and maps.

Flex Radio was showing off the new 5000 rig. Larry has one on order.

Clint, K6LCS, gave a talk on Working AO-51 With an HT.

Me and Ryan listening to AO-51 with our Arrow Antenna and VX-7R.

We were on the top of the parking garage with about 30 other people and 3 arrow antennas in use.

Bob N6OPR gave the 10-10 talk.

The 10-10 Booth saw a lot of activity all weekend.

Chip Margelli helped with the Heil Sound seminar.

Ryan working W1AW/6.

He made several contacts on 20 meters.

The AMSAT Booth had plenty of goodies.

The ARRL Forum was well attended.

Joe N3SRU and Ron W7AI partying it up.

Me, Ryan and Larry W7LB at the Saturday evening banquet.

Ron, Joe, and Joe's XYL at the banquet.

Campaigning for Vice-Director and Director were Tom Fagan, WB7NXH, and Carl Gardenias WU6D. Tom was kind enough to drive a new antenna home for me.

Dick N6AA opens up the banquet ceremonies.

The banquet speaker was an earthquake scientist. Watch out, the big one is coming.

Ryan, Larry, and I were inducted into the Royal Order of the Wouff Hong at a secret midnight ceremony.

The hotel was quite nice.

As usual I spent an hour waiting to see if I won a prize, as usual without success.
